Nightmare In Paradise

Adult and Child

Celebrating Halloween early in Hawai‘i will be a terrifying “Nightmare in Paradise” with KapohoKine Adventures

First-ever nighttime ziplining includes the longest riding tandem line on island at 2,400 feet

HILO, Hawai‘i, September 27, 2018 – As night falls and shadows grow against the moonlight, those seeking early Halloween thrills will find that Hawai‘i after dark can be a “Nightmare in Paradise.” For the first time, KapohoKine Adventures, a leading eco-adventure tour operator on Hawai‘i island, is opening for one evening of nighttime hiking, ziplining and dinner, complete with spooks, ghosts and other frights of the night.

After getting geared up at the KapohoKine Adventures store, guests will be dropped off at the edge of civilization to trek through the haunted Honoli‘i woods as night falls. Everyone is warned to walk quietly to try and avoid ghostly and ghoulish apparitions along the hike. When finally breathing a sigh of relief upon reaching a cabin, guests will question whether it would have been better it was abandoned than inhabited by the zipping zombies who come to greet them. Everyone can permanently rest assured that all zipping zombie guides previously held the highest safety and equipment certifications before becoming one of the undead.
With only whispers and the rattling of gear for company, guests will climb the suspended ramp to zip through the night sky on Line 7. Zipline Through Paradise is the only Hawai‘i island company to boast every line as dual lines allowing side-by-side ziplining. Climbing up the suspension bridge from Line 7 to Line 8, guests then zip nearly one-half mile by only the light of the Hunter’s Moon to the platform below.

A short van ride brings everyone to a candlelit pavilion overlooking an 80-foot double waterfall. Guests will be relieved to learn that they are not on the menu this night, as a delicious barbecue dinner has been prepared for them. Beverages along with complimentary beer and champagne will be available to enjoy before the return ride to safety.

“Nightmare in Paradise” is available on October 27, 2018. Departures start at 6 p.m. for an estimated three-hour duration. Price is $89 plus tax per person and includes transportation from Hilo, ziplining and dinner. Must be minimum of five years old, 60 lbs and a max weight of 275b lbs. Maximum occupancy is 50 persons. Subject to availability. For reservations, call KapohoKine Adventures at 808-964-1000.
